Personal Statement :

Education and learning new ideas and skills are significant components of my approach. I am very relational and easy to talk to about even the most difficult issues of life. I specialize in treating trauma, depression, anxiety, personality disorders, spiritual concerns, relational issues, and severe mental illnesses, such as bipolar disorder. I am certified in EMDR and other effective treatments. I also incorporate specific personality assessments that more clearly identify my clients' strengths and areas for growth. I enjoy working with teens, as well as adults, male or female. I love to renew hope when it has been completely lost.
Many difficulties come from not knowing better ways to respond. "Skills Training" - a major component of treatment - simply means discovering and incorporating different and more effective ways of responding. We only know what we've experienced, so new knowledge and insight can lead to a more enjoyable and productive life.
In addition to working with individuals privately, I bring educational presentations to groups and organizations in order to assist them in caring for people (such as is the case with many non-profits) or building strength in their organizations (such as a high school student body or in the workplace).
